Inspection Guidelines
The following general inspection guidelines will be reviewed with the site contact and/or escort prior to commencing the inspection.

- SEAM Group will perform an infrared inspection of the designated electrical system or assets identified to the inspector.
- SEAM Group personnel will be in protective clothing in order to meet our internal and electrical safety guidelines.
- For best results, all electrical components should be running with a normal load.
- A properly trained person with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from your organization or a third-party company should open and close electrical equipment.
- Equipment that is deemed unsafe to open shall not be inspected.
- SEAM Group will conduct the inspection using the following equipment:

- Laptop computer
- Infrared camera
- Digital camera
- Clamp on AMP meter

- It is recommended that the inspection be conducted in the following order.

- Sub Station
- Incoming Service to Building
- Transformers
- Switchgear
- Main Switchboard/Distribution Panels
- Bus ducts and Wireways
- Motor Control Centers
- Low Voltage Transformers
- Sub Panels
- Local Disconnects
- Contactors
- Control Cabinets

- As much equipment as possible will be inspected during the scheduled days
- Equipment should be prioritized with the most critical equipment inspected first
- The Field Engineer will inform the site contact and or the escort of all critical problems prior to leaving.
Inspection Items:
Items listed below shall be included within our inspection. As much equipment as possible will be inspected during the scheduled days. Equipment should be prioritized with the most critical equipment inspected first.
- Inspect for thermal anomalies in electrical equipment (such as)
- Utility transformers (utility personnel must be present)
- Main incoming service equipment
- Main switchgear
- Capacitors
- Motor Control Centers
- Bus-duct / Cable Risers
- Transformers
- Transfer switches
- Generators (needs to be operating/exercising)
- Distribution panels
- Sub-panels
- Disconnect switches
- Misc. control panels, contactors, etc.
- Visual inspection of all items surveyed for NEC and OSHA compliance
- Baseline all equipment surveyed except bus duct and cable runs which includes:
- Equipment QR-coding (QR-code identifies the following) Equipment classification/type
- Equipment size/capacity
- Manufacturer name
- Model Number (if available)
- Rated amps/capacity
- Voltage
- Equipment priority
- Visual documentation
- Thermal documentation
- Main amp readings for panels, transformers, motors (when able to access safely)
