The Hong Kong Hotels Association (HKHA) proudly announced the successful completion of its 15 month government funded project, “Development of an e-guidebook for good practices for the Hong Kong hotel industry to enhance its business sustainability and competitiveness.” The milestone was celebrated at a closing event held on 30 March 2026 at Hotel Stage, attended by around 100 industry leaders, hotel executives, and sustainability advocates.
The project was supported by the Trade and Industry Department’s Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund (TSF) and implemented by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA). It began with desktop research for preliminary preparation and analysis, followed by consultation interviews with industry and tourism-related stakeholders. Ultimately, a good practices guide covering the major operational areas of hotels was developed. The guide serves as a practical tool for member hotels to strengthen their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, enhancing both resilience and competitiveness in the global hospitality market.
The HKHA remains committed to driving sustainable practices across the hospitality sector, ensuring that Hong Kong hotels are well positioned to thrive in an increasingly ESG focused business environment.
