To enhance the frontline staff’s understanding of the upcoming Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) charging regulation and requirements, the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has commissioned the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) to provide training on 18 August 2023, to facilitate the hotel trade’s preparation for MSW charging. The training gave details on MSW implementation, including the charging modes, types and prices of designated bags and designated labels, “gate-fee” system, legal requirements and penalties, etc. Over 150 participants who passed the quiz had awarded an e-certificate.
